Illness, Photo challenge and Poland... or something like that.

So, last Tuesday I came home from Poland (pictures will be up later).
I felt a cold coming on but nothing serious, so on Wednesday I went for choir practice and had a blast although I thought my throat wasn't all with me. On Thursday I felt a soar throat coming but I still went to dance in Malmö (I took it real easy and was home relatively early for a dance in Malmö). Friday was all work and I decided that I needed to get a thermometer and some medicine for my cough and nose. No fever today.

Saturday was the trip to Gothenburg and Duke's place. I wasn't feeling hunkydory at all but it was a nice trip and Matilda is as always a good hostess, Duke's itself was a bit crowded this time... I guess 250 beginners for the crash course has that sort of effect. I think I danced a total of 8 dances (which works out to 10-12 songs) and then it was off to bed. After a nice breakfast and almost all of the movie The Wrestler I was on my way home again.

Monday was hell on earth (but my voice had a cool Barry White sound to it) so I went home from work after about half the time. Fever today.
Now it's Tuesday and I'm still at home, I awoke 6ish for the first time and got out of bed around 12. 38.1 degrees.

Ok, so now for the Photo challenge, I was challenged by Anders and the rules are like so:
Gå in i mappen Mina bilder (eller motsvarande). Gå till den sjätte mappen och välj sedan den sjätte bilden i den aktuella mappen. Släng upp bilden på bloggen och skriv något om den. Utmana sex andra personer och länka till dem, samt tala om att de är utmanade....
In English:
Go in to the folder My Images (or similar). Open up the sixth folder and choose the sixth image in that folder. Put the folder on your blog and write something about it. Challenge six other people and link to them, as well as telling them that they have been challenged...

The Picture I found was this:Image of Food and an Ubuntu Cola

It's an image from my old apartment, I think it's porkchop with bearnaiese sause, sallad and some potato thingy. The Cola is a fair trade Ubuntu Cola that I tried out (too sweet). Behind it is a Super Mario extra life mushroom lamp from Hong Kong and that's about it.

I challenge Finurlia, Meledil, life of blue rain and Helena to this challenge.

Shopping and Jazz club...

Ok, finding me somewhere to live proved harder then expected... but I found a solution.

I've bought Anna an air mattress which I can sleep on. Finding one of those proved to be harder then expected too, but "skam den som ger sig" and we finaly found one. A pump was also bought at Jysk for the same price as the mattress (the mattress was available at Jysk too but at more then twice the price...).

Back home a quick shave *ouch*, and a change of clothes and we where on our way to the Jazz club. Once there we quickly realized that it was Funky motown music instead of Jazz this night... so here we are back in the room that is Anna's home.

Some studying for Anna and a good book is what the evening offers.

To answer your questions:

  1. I like the acceleration the kick in the back of the seat when a plane takes off, this one had to little of both so it was "too smooth"
  2. As a change from the English where people continue in their own language, a part from the english that can say only Yes and No. The English with a british accent instead of a polish one (in this case).
  3. The "floor" was in this case, two-three layers of thick blankets... yes I miss your mangeld sheets....
  4. I'm here for a total of five days
  5. Yes I will live here during my stay in the country, not longer ;)

Landing in Poland

Yesterday I landed in Poland.

The flight was one of the best ones I've had (mostly because I didn't have any alcohol at all in my body) so far, the start was a bit too smooth for my tastes but the landing was smooth and great. I found the WizzAir bus Ok and soon I was on my way to Katowice, in the car there was one other person and she spoke really good English, which was nice for a change... She helped me get on the right train so I went first class to Wroclaw where Anna met me at the tracks. After a long walk around town and we ended up at Pizza Hut and had something to eat.
This night I sleept on the "floor", I'm really loning for a real bed because it wasn't all that comfortable.

Today a trip around town seeing the sights is planned along with getting me somewhere to live.
TTL!
